  Culling and Hunting.... your opinions?

  i am sure this post will anger a few people, and i respect that some find the idea of killing an animal repulsive.

  all i ask is that, if you reply, you concentrate more on what you think of hunting and culling, rather than posting insults that i am a brute etc.

  unfortunately it is a sad fact of life, that sometimes it is necessary to kill one or many animals to make sure things stay in balance.

  This guy should kill his own cats, however, feral cats are extremely destructive to wildlife so if he won't do it himself then I think someone needs to. Shooting is humane if it is properly done, I can't believe someone recommended poisoning, that's really nasty business.

  my mother told me that the co gave a talk on how a spider spins his web and it can take a very long time for the web to be made but just like that--- before you know it---it can catch its prey and devour it.

  it's the same with the world wide web, the internet.

  there are reports, according to the co, that in new york, a very prominent "anointed" man was disfellowshipped and he has his owm website where he has answered many jws questions.

  the rank and file soldier was following the orders of the hired interrogation contractors (who are outside of military law) to soften up the prisoners.

  Hey I found out today that Alan Dershowitz of all people says torture is OK under certain circumstances, that it's Consitutional. Who'd of thought that?

  i found these two references very interesting.....i reflected on the mentality of the witnesses in my old congregations in janesville, wisconsin....i realised they weren't a 'happy' people because they had the "truth", they were in truth happy because of being all medicated (prozac).

  hello, i am writing because i was disfellowshipped a week and a half ago.

  i have not been to the meeting in over two and a half years.

  you would think they would leave me alone.

  I wouldn't say it was quite that open and shut. The first thing an appeal committee does is determine whether or not a disfellowshipping matter was involved. The second is to decide whether the individual was repentant at the time of the original meeting. That's the way it usually goes, and the error in determining repentance has to be 'gross' for the decision to be overturned. Since in this case it doesn't seem like you had an opportunity to actually have a meeting then an appeal committee might just say that it wasn't possible to disfellowship under the circumstances. Be aware that something that comes out in an appeal hearing can also be used to disfellowship, even if it is a new matter.

  I know of two instances in which committees very obviously acted without any evidence at all were simply overturned at the direction of the CO.

  I know of one case in which a committee acted on an individual without a hearing, imposing restrictions which went on for a very long time. In that particular case the Organizatoin eventually directed that their action be reversed but the CO had to stand on their heads of the local committee to actually make them comply. The Service Desk acted pretty quickly once they got the straight story but it took a couple of years for the individual to actually talk to the CO.

  I don't know if any of that helps but at least it's more information.

  I have a copy of the book, haven't read it yet. This is not new idea, there was an article in Biblical Archaeology on it a couple of years ago. I think quite a few scholars are convinced that it is a three syllable name.

  You do have an additional right of appeal to the Organization, if after meeting with an appeal committee you are not satisfied with what happens. That appeal has to be in writing and there should be no announcement until Headquarters reaches some decision. Sounds like you've got some guys that don't know procedure.

  Did they ask you to meet with them?

  that lagging indicator of employment is silencing the "jobless recovery" critics, in the last two months (march and april) 600,000+ new jobs created, and the january and febraury figures are up.
